NAWABSHAH: Markets in Nawabshah opened for a
brief period on Monday, before aerial firing
of miscreants forced the shopkeepers to pull
down their shutters. The law and order situation
started to deteriorate when some persons tried
to force shopkeepers to close their shops and
on their refusal, they resorted to aerial firing.
Meanwhile, two rival groups also exchanged fire
in Gharibabad area, which left a man Aijaz Khokhar
seriously injured. After the incident public
transport went off roads. Citizens felt insecurity
due to insufficient presence of rangers and
police. The police have registered more than
1000 cases under 7ATA and criminal laws against
political workers and citizens on charges of
looting and torching shops and banks in localities
including Gapchani, Doar, Qazi Ahmed, Sakrand,
Daulatpur and Bandhi. Meanwhile, the police
raided in various areas and arrested Raju Khokhar,
Bashir Bhatti, Nazar Pathan and other five nominated
in these cases. However the police when contacted
did not confirm any arrest.
Youth killed over Karo-kari
Seven persons shot dead a youth at Goth Rahimdad
Dinari on Monday over suspected illicit relation
with a woman of their family. Muhammad Ayub,
17, son of Miran Bux was killed when seven persons
opened fire on him, leaving him dead. The accused
managed to flee from the scene.
The police registered a case against accused
including Miral Dinari, Shiral Dinari, Bashir,
Gul Bag, Mir Hasan and two unidentified persons
on the compliant of deceased’s brother
Rahimdad.
Funeral prayers in
absentia offered
A funeral prayer in absentia for PPP chairperson
Benazir Bhutto was offered at Nawabshah Press
Club on Monday.
Nawabshah Press Club President Muhammad Anwar
Sheikh led the prayer. Later, a collective Dua
was also offered for slain Benazir Bhutto at
the club.
On the occasion, local journalists including
Zulifkar Ali Memon, Saleh Ballo, Hakim Khaskheli,
Nabi Bux Baloch, Mir Muhammad Khaskheli, Abdul
Qadir Baloch, Ismail Domki, Ali Raza, Haji Akhtar,
Muhammad Arshad Munir, Fida Hussain and others
demanded of government to hold a probe into
assassination of Benazir Bhutto by international
investigation agencies.
