Dairy industry in deep crisis, milk prices likely to rise

KARACHI: Closure of highways, railways and worsening law and order situation following the killing of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has created a serious crisis for Karachi’s dairy industry, forcing Dairy Farmers Association not to announce new rates of fresh milk for the year 2008.

 
Karachi transporters demand compensation of burnt vehicles
KARACHI: The Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) has demanded of the government to pay compensation of their burnt vehicles within two weeks, otherwise the transporters may go on strike for indefinite period.
