ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Senate Committee
on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held
on Tuesday in Parliament House Islamabad under
the Chairmanship of Senator Syed Tahir Hussain
Mashhadi.
Senator Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi and Members
of the Committee gave a patient hearing to Chairman,
D.G. and other officials of NAB to explain their
point of view with regard to their misbehavior
with Senator Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi. Senator
Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi took a strong exception
to the proven misbehavior of the NAB officials
with Senator Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi.
He ordered immediate suspension of Dy.Director
(Intelligence), S.H.O., A.S.I. and two constables
of NAB for their rude and discourteous behavior
towards a serving Senator.
He further ordered Chairman, NAB, to conduct
a high level inquiry into the incident and take
strong disciplinary departmental action against
the culprits and report the findings to the
Committee.
Senator Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi declared
that the honour, dignity and prestige of the
Parliament and its members was the subject very
close to his heart. He further clarified that
this Committee is committed to justice and fair
chance and ample opportunity had been provided
to the NAB to reply to the allegations. He further
stated that the honour and dignity of the Parliament
and its Members will be protected and safeguarded
at all costs.

of NAB attended the meeting. Next meeting of
the Committee will be held on 20th August, 2008
