Karachi: According to well informed sources, it has been learnt that a select group of well placed influential people who mediated the deal between the Presidency and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto last year have arrived in Pakistan to remind the powers that be of the commitments made to them in regards to the deal which they brokered. In this regard, the ex British envoy to Islamabad , Mr. Lyallpur has arrived in Pakistan to remind all the players in the present equation of the guarantees that were made by the respective sides. Besides the high profile British diplomat who at one time brought the President and Shaheed Motharma together, two well placed individuals from the US and one extremely influential Saudi power broker have also reached Pakistan to bring an end to the impeachment proceedings being carried out against President Musharraf. The sources said that these individuals have reached Islamabad to remind everyone especially in the PPP corridors that it was them that brokered the peace between the PPP and the Presidency and therefore they are the guarantors of the deal and thus it is their creditability which is at stake if the impeachment proceedings are carried out in violation of the secret deal which is said to have occurred last year. Already the presence of these individuals in the country has brought about some changes and in this regard the great urgency that was being shown to get rid of the President seems to have slowed down just a bit to allow cooler heads to prevail within all the sides concerned.
