US
has no role in President’s impeachment:
Gilani
—Says COAS is in favor of democracy
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza
Gilani has said that the United States has nothing
to do with President Musharraf’s impeachment.
He said that the Chief of Army Staff, General
Ashfaq Pervez Kayani is a professional and wants
to strengthen democracy in the country.
Talking to journalists after National Youth
Award (NYA) ceremony here, the PM said that
President’s impeachment would bring about
a positive change in the system and it was not
against any personality. Gilani said coalition
partners would decide name of new President
and people of Pakistan voted for change on February
18.
On this occasion, the PM also announced to double
women quota in civil services.—Agencies
