KARACHI: Federal Minister for Finance Naveed Qamar has assured towel and bedwear exporters that government will provide a support to home textile sector in the next meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
According to Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (TMA) here Tuesday, the minister extended the assurance to a joint delegation of TMA and Pakistan Bedwear Exporters Association (PBEA) in a recently held meeting.
Chairman T & D Committee of TMA M Muzzammil Husain said that the minister was kind enough to give patient hearing to the delegation and agreed that home textiles were facing financial constraints after the discontinuation of R & D support.
The delegation apprised the minister about the problems facing home textile sector including high cost of production due to costly gas and electricity and rising mark up.—RT
