ISLAMABAD: Ex-Vice President Supreme Court Bar Association Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry Tuesday impeachment of the President was imperative. Addressing a news conference he said lawyers welcome the decision of the ruling alliance.
He called upon all the political parties to join hands for making the impeachment a success. Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry said the nation would not forgive those who subverted the constitution and who validated such actions.
He said all the deposed judges should be restored without further delay, even before the impeachment.
Separately, Khawaja Tariq Suhail, member executive committee of the SCBA, said lawyers movement would continue till the restoration of pre-November 3 Judiciary.
He told reporters at the Supreme Court premises that future strategy of the movement would be decided in the meeting of lawyers representatives scheduled to be held on August 15 in Rawalpindi.
To a question about the decision of the ruling alliance regarding impeachment of the president, he said,” we appreciate the decision and we expect restoration of deposed judges before the process of impeachment.”—Agencies
