KARACHI: Chairman, Sindh National Front, Mumtaz
Ali Bhutto has criticized the presence of NATO
forces at the Pakistan border terming it an
attack on the sovereignty of the country. “The
activities of NATO forces inside the Pakistan
territory had become a routine and now its presence
at our borders mean that they want to occupy
FATA and Pakhtoonkhawah areas,” he said
in a statement on Wednesday.
SNF chief also referred to a statement of Prime
Minister regarding presence of foreign terrorists
in tribal areas and said that the rulers were
compelled to make ‘meaningless complaints.’
Mumtaz Bhutto described the frequent visits
of American Secretary of state, Deputy Secretary
of State and the military generals to Pakistan
and holding meetings with President, Prime Minister,
Generals and other military officials of medium
rank as the violation of basic principles of
protocol and diplomacy.
“It also indicates as if Pakistan has
become a State of USA,” he contended.
“It needs a capable leadership to safeguard
the country, its independence and the sovereignty,
which alas it lacks,” he viewed. Mumtaz
Bhutto went on to say that the country was already
in the grip of all kinds of evils domestically
and there seems no body to steer it out, as
the present rulers, who in fact were of the
district level cadre, do not take any concrete
step except forming committees. According to
SNF chief, merely making complaints was a futile
practice, as the rulers would not pay any heed
to them.
