Arbab moves leave application in Sindh Assembly
thru his legal attorney
By Muhammad Muniruddin
KARACHI: The former Sindh chief minister and
President of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Sindh
chapter, Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who is living
in the UAE from the last couple of months, is
said to have no intention of returning to the
country without a change in the current political
scenario.
According to close friends of Arbab Ghulam Rahim,
although, he is out of country but he is fully
aware of all the political happenings in Pakistan
especially in Sindh and he is in-touch with
all his old political colleagues. Arbab is also
said to have informed one of his old friend
in Karachi on Wednesday that he will soon be
back in his homeland as it seems that the present
government will not survive much longer according
to him. Arbab Rahim has also said that like
every year he will spend the whole month of
holy Ramzan in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Arbab
has sent his leave application to the Sindh
Assembly through his legal attorney. According
to Parliamentary procedures, any elected member
of any elected house can not be absent continuously
from the sittings of the house or otherwise
his membership of the house will lapse. Sources
close to Dr Arbab Rahim said that the ex-chief
minister fears that the PPP has a majority in
the Sindh Assembly and that it will not allow
his leave application to be entertained.
