Cabinet approves Thar Coal project
—No one can attack sovereignty or writ of
Pakistan: Sherry
LAHORE: Federal cabinet approved pilot project
under which 8000 CNG buses would be on road
in big cities while Thar Coal Project was also
approved, whereas Prime Minister Syed Yousuf
Raza Gilani will give details of achievement
of government in first 100 day on July 19 2008.
This was disclosed by Federal Minister for Information,
Sherry Rehman in a media briefing after the
meeting of Federal Cabinet here on Wednesday.
She informed that cabinet meeting mostly discussed
flour crisis and price hike in country, she
also informed that it was decided that flour
prices would be same in all the provinces and
for that a committee has been established.
Minister informed that in the meeting recent
remarks from Afghan President Hamid Karzai has
been strongly condemned. “Pakistan wanted
to have good relationship with all its’
neighbors but these remarks can create a possible
rift between the neighbors’ which is harmful
for the peace of the region.” Sherry Rehman
said that no one can attack on sovereignty or
writ of Pakistan nor it would allow anyone to
do so. She reiterated firm stand of the government
of Pakistan that no foreign force could take
action on Pakistani soil as it was fully capable
of taking action, if needed.
Sherry Rehman informed that in order to coupe
with energy crisis Thar Coal project has been
approved, she disclosed that Ministry of Water
and Power has chalked out plane to produce 3000
MGV of electricity in a year.—Agencies
