HYDERABAD: The members of Gharibabad Action Committee Badin
under the leadership of Suhail Ahmed, Mohammad Iqbal and
others staged a protest demonstration outside the press
club Hyderabad on Monday against an influential man of their
area for attempting to occupy their houses in Badin city.
While talking to newsmen, they alleged that an influential
man namely Abdul Hakim Soomro, resident of Badin has registered
a fake claim of ownership of 397 of acres land consisting
40,000 houses at the Board of Revenue Hyderabad.
They said that the claim of Abdul Hakim is false and they
are residing there since the past 50 years and that the
land was sold to them by Gul Mohammad Soomro.
They demanded of Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza to
take a notice of the matter and take action against the
accused.
Selection of Anwaarul
Haq as President of Hockey Team Hyderabad criticized
The members of the Pakistan Hockey Federation under the
leadership of Mohsin Ali and others staged a protest demonstration
outside the press club Hyderabad on Monday against the raging
in the selection of national hockey team.
While talking to newsmen, they alleged that the members
the selection committee of the national team Iftikhar Syed
has selected his favorite from Hyderabad. They added that
Anwaarul Haq is selected as the President of the Hockey
Team Hyderabad, who is basically a football player. They
said that many hockey players of Hyderabad have been ignored
by the selection committee. They demanded of the concerned
authorities for appointment of the honest selection committee.
Seminar on‘Women’s political role in Pakistan’
held
Women Councilors Network arranged a ceremony under the banner
of “Women’s political role in Pakistan”
at the press club Hyderabad on Monday.
Addressing the ceremony, Afroze Shoro, Najma Chandio, Shazia
Khaskheli, Baji Anees, Safia Baloch and others said that
Pakistan is the member of the UNO so that women should be
given high status in the country. They stressed upon struggle
for restoration of the status of the women.
They said that the previous government increased the seats
of women in the national as well as provincial assemblies
so that they can represent women of their area.
Protest staged against sale of fake BISP forms
The lady workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Q Likeminded
Group Hyderabad under the leadership of Zareena Khan Mughal
and others staged a protest demonstration outside the press
club Hyderabad on Monday against the sale fake forms of
Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in Hyderabad. While
talking to newsmen, they said fake forms of BISP are being
sold to poor women outside the Sessions Court and General
Post Office Hyderabad. They demanded of the government of
Sindh to take stern action against the people involved in
selling fake forms of BISP in Hyderabad.
Sui Gas employees demand
issuance of their salaries
The members of Sui Gas Action Committee Pakistan under the
leadership of Zulfiqar Qadri, Basheer Bughio and others
staged a protest demonstration outside the press club Hyderabad
on Monday for issuance of their 3 months’ salaries
and their reposting.
While talking to newsmen, they said that 10 months ago the
President of Pakistan had reinstated them but the Sui Gas
administration has still not implemented the Presidential
Ordinance. They said that despite passage of 10 months the
Sui Gas Administration has not issued their salaries of
the past 3 months and due to which the employees are facing
many hardships to celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha. They threatened
to stage a protest outside the head office of their department,
if their salaries are not released before Eid.
