Govt taking concrete steps to provide employment: Amir Nawab

LARKANA: Cheques and certificates distribution ceremony was held at the Technical Training Center Larkana. The Guest Sindh Minister for Labour, Ameer Nawab Khan was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Program started with the recitation of Holy Quran, and Naats were also offered.
On the occasion, Ameer Nawab Khan distributed certificates and cheques amongst the students of the first and Second Batch of the Prime Minister Skill development program at Technical Training Center Larkana. The Minister urged the youths to come forward for the development of the society. He said that the purpose of Awami government is only to serve the people without any discrimination. The present democratic government has lifted the ban from Labour and trade unions, besides the wages of the workers have also been increased. The Minister also said that 60000 job opportunities will be provided to the educated youths in the Sindh Province. Ameer Nawab said that he has love and affection with the people of Larkana and all basic facilities will be provided to promote living standard of the masses of the district. Labour Minister added that the government is taking concrete efforts to solve the problems of Youth Students and in this regard, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program will be starting from next month, through this program 4000 rupees will be given to the students per month and those students who travel 70 Kilometers to reach TTC Larkana will be provided Rs. 6000 to 7000 per month. On the occasion, the Director, Karim Bux Siddiqui in his speech said that Larkana has great importance in respect of education. He also applauded the efforts of the Principal TTC, Noor Ahmed Shaikh and expressed satisfaction over the performance of TTC Larkana. Earlier, the Principal Technical Training Center Larkana, Noor Ahmed Shaikh in his welcome address thanked to all the attendants of the ceremony specially Labour Minister Ameer Nawab Khan and Director Karim Siddiqui for their arrival to honor the program. Later on, Ameer Nawab Khan while presiding over a meeting of the labor leaders at the Circuit House Larkana said that the hopes of the workers in Awami government have increased all possible facilities for the workers and their sons and daughters will be provided to them, besides the Labour colonies are also being constructed for the welfare of the labours. The labour union leaders included Qadir Khurd, Ghulam Muhammad Balouch, Aziz Abbasi, Abdul Sattar Khtayan, Abdul Qadir Malgani, Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Manzoor Aheer, Akbar Mirani, Inam Abro, Saeed Khan Brohi, Ghulam Murtaza Korai, Abdul Khaliq and others were present on the occasion. Later on, the Sindh Minister for Labour visited the under construction Flats for the workers, near central jail Larkana. On the occasion, he was informed that the under construction work of the flats will be completed by 2009.
Adhoc lectures
observe hunger strike by holding portrait of Shaheed BB
SPLA Adhoc lecturer’s Action Committee observed a token-hunger strike outside the Larkana Press Club by holding a portrait of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir for their regularization. The hunger camp was attended by Professor Abdul Fatah Supro, Fida Hussain Junejo, Ibrahim Lashori, Abdul Wahid Memon, Ali Raza Gaad and others. Talking to newsmen, SPLA leaders said that despite the orders of the Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq regarding regularization of the Adhoc lecturers, their services have not been regularized yet. On the occasion the protesting adhoc lecturers demanded of the government for their immediate reinstatement.
