THATTA: The police on Thursday claimed to have recovered a picnicker, who was kidnapped by a gang of the dacoits some five days back while returning from Keenjhar Lake.
The dacoits hijacked a van carrying picnickers of the Garden area of Karachi, drove it to a nearby forest and deprived them of cash, cell phone and other valuables.
The bandits released all the passengers including women and children, except a youth Farid Ahmed.
The DPO Thatta, Fida Hussain Mastoi confirmed the release of Farid Ahmed and claimed that the recovery was the result of an operation conducted by the police. The police also claimed that they had arrested a dacoit namely, Rasoli Mallah.
