ISLAMABAD:The 15th NAM Ministerial Meeting
will be held in Tehran, Iran on 29-30 July 2008.
The two day Ministerial Meeting will be preceded
by the Senior Officials Meeting on 27-28 July.
The theme of the Tehran Ministerial Conference
is “Solidarity for Peace, Justice and
Friendship.” The Non-Aligned Movement
(NAM) was founded in 1961 at the Belgrade Conference.
It has currently 118 member states. NAM is a
voice of the developing countries. Pakistan
joined NAM in 1979 and has since participated
in all its Summit and Ministerial Conferences.
Over the years, Pakistan has maintained a high
profile in the activities of the organization.
Pakistan believes that the Non-Aligned Movement
has made an admirable contribution in the past
to the cause of freedom and liberty, to the
struggle against colonialism and racial discrimination.—Agencies
