ISLAMABAD: PML Secretary General, Senator Mushahid
Hussain Sayed on Thursday reiterated that the
PML will continue to uphold and promote the
progressive vision of the Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad
Ali Jinnah towards the minority communities
of Pakistan. He made these remarks during a
meeting with the delegation of the PML Minorities
Wing led by its Chairman, Mr.Akram Masih Gill,
MNA. Senator Mushahid Hussain said that it was
a credit of the PML that “we are the first
ruling party in the history of Pakistan to celebrate
holy days of all minorities”. Condemning
the PPP nationalization of Christian Missionary
Education Institutions, Senator Mushahid Hussain
said that it was the PML government that restored
these institutions to a quality level by denationalizing
them thereby contributing to quality education.
He appreciated the minority communities for
its support to the PML in the recent elections
and said tht the PML was committed to the vision
of Quaid-i-Azam which was enunciated in his
famous speech of August 11, 1947 to the Constituent
Assembly where he committed Pakistan to a policy
of freedom of religious and equality for all
citizens of Pakistan irrespective of their caste,
creed or faith. In this regard, Senator Mushahid
Hussain directed the PML Minorities Wing to
celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day
in a befitting manner on August 11 to commemorate
both Pakistan’s independence as well as
the 62nd anniversary of the historic speech
of Quaid-i-Azam.—Agencies
