KARACHI: Former speaker of the national assembly and veteran politician Ilahi Bux Soomro has said that he would contest next general election from his native constituency from Jacobabad, Muhammad Mian Soomro have no political support base in Jacobabad and the people of this area would not support Muhammad Mian beside this fact if he would take part in the election from Jacobabad we would be welcome. During a recent interview Ilahi Bux Soomro disclosed that former President General Ziaul Haq had decided to nominate him for the post of prime minister but General Jehan Dad Khan who was the governor of Sindh in Zia era has strongly opposed my nomination after the opposition of General Jehan Dad khan, Pir Sahab Pagara, the spiritual leader of Hur Jamaat also opposed me. Due to Pir Sahab opposition General Zia forced to select Muhammad Khan Jonejo as a prime minister of Pakistan.
Ilahi Bux soomro said he have very good relations with Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and this is a reality that the PML- N is only genuine Muslim League which have massive public support in the country however the ruling PML-Q is only drawing room party which have no public support. Former speaker national assembly said he would take part in next election from the platform of Mulsim League Nawaz.
