NAWABSHAH: Like many other parts of interior
Sindh, hundreds of people here are also suffering
from the waterborne disease of gastroenteritis.
According to reports, some 250 patients, most
of them minors, were admitted at Nawabshah Medical
College Hospital during last 24-hours. The emergency,
children and medical wards of NMCH were jam-packed
with patients.
As a large number of minors were hospitalised
two or three children were seen sharing a single
bed. The attendants said their patients had
been facing hardships in treatment, as medicines
in required quantity were not available at the
hospital. Similarly, gastroenteritis patients
were also seen in scores at private clinics.
The hospital officials said a number of patients
were suffering from waterborne diseases, due
to contaminated water. Dr. Ehsan Ali of Emergency
Ward said gastro-hit patients were still reporting
at the hospital. On the other hand unannounced
load shedding by the WAPDA in very hot weather
further added to the miseries of people.—Agency
