4 dead, one injured in
road mishap in Larkana

LARKANA: Five people belonging to minority wing including a woman were coming back to Larkana after attending a marriage in Mastung city of Balochistan, suddenly their car fell into a cave near Mach in Balochistan ,in which Maharaja Santosh Kumar, Raja Navender Kumar 42, his wife Shreamati Kanta Bai and EshwarLal, 35, residents of Larkana city died on the spot, and another youth Naresh Kumar 25 sustained severe injuries However their death bodies were brought to Larkana and Ratodero where their religious rituals were observed. Whereas on the arrival of their death bodies at Larkana and Ratodero hundreds of people belonging to minority wing gathered and closed off their business to show their grief over this gruesome accident. It is said that Maharaja Narendar Kumar, resident of Pakistani chowk Larkana was the spiritual leader of Hindu Community across Sindh and Balochistan

mammoth rally in
connection with May Day
A huge rally was taken out by Watan Dost Mazdooor Federation Employees to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of Chicago, which was participated by various labor unions such as, Highways Employees Union, Provincial Buildings United, Mehnat Kash Labor, Bedi Mazdoor Ittehad, Pather Poorhiyat, Batta labour, Tameerati labor, Darzi Mazdoor and others. Rally started from Highways Labor Hall and marching through various roads of the city culminated at Circuit House. The participants in the rally were holding placards and banners into their hands inscribed with slogans in favor of labors and the martyrs of Chicago. On the occasion, leaders of various unions Comrade Abdul Qadir Malgani, Manzoor Ahmed Aheer, Peeral Dayo, and Wali Muhammad Umrani including others addressing the rally said that they will continue their struggle till the provision of their rights. However they passed resolutions and demanded that the ban against the recruitment in government departments should be lifted, the quota for the offspring of the retired and deceased employees should be restored, new industrial units be set up in interior Sindh, inflation and price hiking be controlled, the commodities of basic necessity be made cheaper, the employees of various government departments of city Larkana be given the city allowances, labor colonies be constructed for the labors. They further demanded the provision of job opportunities and maintenance of law and order situation in district Larkana.

hunger strike against kidnapping of
minor children
A token-hunger strike against kidnapping of minor children was observed by CRC Chapter Larkana. The hunger strike was led by Dr. Haji Khan Metlo and Advocate Abdul Rehman Bhutto.
On the occasion, the leaders alleged that the law and order situation of city has become worst and worst day by day and minor children have been kidnapped as well, further added that in this regard district government seems oblivious and so far has not taken any sort of step to stop the kidnapping of minor children. However they demanded the provision of security for minor children and recovery of kidnapped and missing children as well as making bound the law enforcing agencies to observe high security in city and strict vigilance against the criminal elements. Whereas Abdul Malik Abbasi, Mst; Hameeda Kalhoro, Faiz Muhammad Jakhro, Gul Hassan Chandio also spoke on the occasion.
Laborers deprived
of basic facilities: Peeral Dayo
Addressing the public gathering on the eve of Labor Day Peeral Dayo, the President APCA Family planning Sindh and Sindh Employees Alliance said that labor class has been weakened and exploited by the elite class. He further said that the privatization process carried out by the present regime has worsened the government departments and the rights of employees have been usurped by the elite class. He further said that in this critical period people have been plunged into the lawlessness and unemployment. He further demanded the cancellation of privatization process and appealed to the employees of various government departments as well as private firms to rise for their rights. Whereas, Imamuddin Bugti, Mst; Zaib ul Nisa Khuhawar, Irshad Mughal including others also spoke.
Iqbal Ahmed Soomro lauds services rendered by The Regional Times
Nazim of UC-6, Iqbal Ahmed Soomro belonging to Insan Dost Panel has said that many development projects in district Larkana have been carried out on the basis of equality. Talking to the RT correspondent, he said that the councilors belonging to Awam Dost Panel are deliberately crying of ignoring them by District Nazim, whereas on the other hand they are given the development projects on the basis of equality by District Nazim. He further said that he has managed the installation of new fifteen electric transformers in his UC, provision of 50 sewing machines to widows, besides 250 dresses among poor women. He further confessing the improper drainage system in Larkana said that the drainage system in city Larkana is in a very dilapidated condition and in this regard he has asked Taluka Nazim, Qurban Ali Abbasi in written as well as verbally, buta allegedly Taluka Nazim has not taken notice of it so far. He further talking about land mafia in Larkana have occupied the plot of Primary School at Hydri Muhallah and in this regard a resolution has been also passed against the occupation of plot in Council, but the plot has not been vacated until now. He further demanded that jobs should be given at the UC basis and the sequence of favoritism must be eradicated. On the occasion, Iqbal Ahmed Soomro lauded the services rendered by The Regional Times and said that it has been playing very important role in highlighting the burning issues of interior Sindh.
