strike by PPP and ADG enters sixth day, leader
arrested

NAWABSHSH: Hunger strike observed by Peoples
Party Parliamentarian and elected local representatives
of Awam Dost group to protest misbehaviour of
District Coordination Officer during the pre-budget
session entered the sixth day with the determination
that it will continue unless the DCO is transferred
or suspended, while one of hunger striker’s
condition has deteriorated.
According to reports reaching here on Tuesday,
hunger strike continued under leadership of
MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio at Nawabshah Press
Club; small factions of the party like lawyers
forum and Engineering Forum also joined the
strike in order to express solidarity with the
hunger strikers.
MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio declared that the DCO
is corrupt, so Nawabshah residents must be get
rid of him, otherwise they would kick him out
through their peaceful struggle. Though, condition
of Moula Bux Bhatti has aggravated. Well-placed
sources said that DCO has left for Karachi and
Chief Secretary called District Nazima Faryal
Talpur to come to Karachi, but she defied and
refused to work with DCO.
On the other hand, A-Section Police has arrested
Asif Ali Zardari’s personal secretary
Mohammad Ismail Dahri and his associate Nawab
Bhutto.
Different unions mark Labour Day
Hydro Electric Union, Sindh Food Green, All
Pakistan Clerks Association have jointly rallied
to mark Labour Day attributed to labourers,
who had laid down their lives in the struggle,
which was launched to reduce work hours from
twelve to eight in 1886.Fazal Mohammad Shiekh,
Ali Asghar Khaskhali, Jam Bhatti, Daud Unar,
Luqman Bughio and Salim Bhatti were heading
rally holders and were inciting them to raise
slogans in the faviour of martyrs and against
government and industrialists.
