Extortion of SITE Factory owners by the Sindh
Employees Social Security
|
|
|
|
It seems that all the limits of decency have
now been crossed. The appetite to extort money
from Karachi’s factory owners has compelled
the officers of the Sindh Employees Social Security(SESSI)
to issue inspection officers notices prematurely,
to be precise, four months in advance. A recent
letter issued by the SESSI S.I.T.E, West Directorate
Office, asked the recipients to present their
Social Security record for the period ending
December 2006. Now how can anyone arrange for
the record for the future months? In that case,
one can only presume that there is only one
rationale behind issuing this letter four months
in advance and that is to harass and pressurize
the factory owners to succumb to the SSO’s
demands for ransom. These so called labor welfare
departments have virtually become a nuisance
for the business community.
They practically, have zero interest in the
workers welfare. They are least interested in
what the workers are getting in terms of benefits
and medical care. Their first and only charm
is to check mate the factory owners and earn
some sort of added income by threatening them
the cumbersome, complicated, and contradictory
laws and procedural weapons. But what else can
we expect in an environment, which stinks and
is over polluted with corruption, where each
and every state and government department is
heavily loaded with corrupt, dishonest and virtually
criminal people.
How can one expect any action to be taken against
the extortionist of the SESSI. After all, the
ransom money is distributed among all their
bosses starting from the SSO to directors and
then commissioners of the SESSI. Last but not
least, it is no secret, that the appointment
of a Social Security Officer (SSO) carries with
a price tag of six figures. Show we wait for
an announced departmental enquiry against the
SSO Ali Akbar Mangi, who issued the said letter
of Audit or for a swift denial with a stereotypical
clarification from SESSI that all said is incorrect?

Poverty is an evil and curse. Its affects are
destructive not only physically but mentally,
morally and spiritually. It embitters life and
takes away its all joys.
George Bernard Shaw has said that “ Lack
of money is root of all the evils “. I
think that he has rightly said because all evils
born out of poverty. The criminals are not born
as criminals but they are made and it is poverty
that makes him a criminal.
In our country, more than seventy percent of
our population live much below the Poverty line.
Poverty is increasing day by day in our country.
Because of poverty, a poor man is not able to
lead his life comfortable. Whole the time, he
is worried about his children and family members.
When a person is facing a lot of problems in
his life and he cannot get sufficient money,
then finally he apply the wrong path and he
becomes the criminal, thief or kidnapper. Poverty
has adverse effects on one’s character.
Therefore, it’s a request to Government
through this esteem newspaper that please take
some immediate steps to eliminate poverty from
our country.

Teaching is a noble profession
|
|
|
|
It is true that teaching is a noble profession.
There are so many professions, which are adopted
by the people, but best profession of teaching
is noble because it gives a best way of peace
and prosperity. It is the profession, which
changes the life of a person.
Just imagine if we would not have a teacher,
then how can we get guideline because it is
the personality, who takes out one from darkness
to light.
Teaching as a noble profession requires a great
courage, aplomb, and moral strength. There is
the a ‘hadith’ of our holy Prophet
(Peace Be Upon Him) that “ he who is neither
teacher nor student is not a Muslim” this
shows us that teacher has given fully importance
of teaching and learning and proved that a Muslim
must be a associated with the process f teaching.
Another saying of our holy Prophet (Peace Be
Upon Him) is that “I am sent as a teacher
in this world”.
According to me teacher means: T = trustable,
E = equality spreader, A = aim provider,
C = character builder, H = helper, E = essential
personality, R = respectable.
Teaching means to give the new way to a person
and to make understand him the real meaning
of life.
