May Day rally demands reinstatement of sacked workers

KARACHI: On the eve of World Labor Day, PC Hotel Yekjahti Committee took out a torch-bearing rally here on Tuesday for reinstatement of sacked PC Hotel employees. The rally originated from Karachi Press Club and culminated at PIDC House. A large number of trade union leaders and activists including women and children participated in the rally.
Addressing the rally, Liaquat Ali Sahi said that PC Hotel management had sacked union leaders after implicating them in fake cases five years ago. The sacked employees approached political leaders and also filed cases in courts but they could not get justice. He demanded of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim to take steps for immediate restoration of the sacked employees.—Agency
