all set to hold National Tax conference on 3rd
May

Islamabad: Central Board of Revenue, Revenue
Division, is all set to hold its two-day National
Conference on Tax Administration Reform Program
(TARP) to be held in Karachi on 3rd & 4th
May, 2007. The Conference will be spread over
five sessions. Opening Session will be followed
by Session on Direct Taxes on 3rd May. Whereas,
sessions on Sales Tax and Customs and the concluding
Session are to be held on 4th May, 2007.
Major objectives of the Conference are (a) to
involve the external and internal
stakeholders at all levels in support of the
Tax Administration Reform Program (TARP), (b)
to apprise them about progress and achievements
of the said Program and (c) to create the feeling
of ownership of the Tax Administration Reform
Program in the private sector.
Top leadership of the business, industry and
trade bodies besides international stakeholders
are expected to participate in the Conference
in a big way.
While the event draws highest level policy endorsement
from the top leadership of the country, the
Chairman and Members of CBR and high ranking
officers of Ministry of Finance will be present
on the occasion.
The event will apprise the progress and achievements
of Tax Administration Reform Program (TARP)
and build a platform to discuss and evaluate
the problems of corporate sector towards the
taxation system and implement a trade and business-
friendly tax policy, thus creating an atmosphere
of mutual trust between the taxpayer and tax
collectors.
