FEROZWALA: Pakistan Muslim League (N) has decided
to accord warm welcome to deposed Chief Justice
of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on his
arrival in Lahore on May 5.
The decision to this effect was taken in party’s
meeting held here in local hotel chaired by
the MNA Pervaiz Malik. The ticket-holder Sajjad
Hussain Cheena, Ch. Arif Iqbal Awan President
PML-N Birmingham-England, Malik Fateh Khan General
Secretary PML-N Birmingham, Raja Tahir Additional
General Secretary Birmingham, PML-N office-bearers
Mian Rifaqat of Patiala and others in large
number attended the meeting. Addressing the
meeting, Pervaiz Malik said that the constitutional
crisis would cause to end of the Gen. Pervez
Musharraf’s rule, however, the judiciary
would achieve its independent status ensuring
to restore rule of law and constitution in the
country. He said that the PML-N had made political
alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party, which
after rumours of deal with the ruling junta
was nearing to end. He said that the PML-N believes
in politics of principles and will not change
its policy. He said that any party making deal
would suffer in the long run. He vowed to lodge
strong protest on May 5 in Lahore and other
cities against bulldozing of the judiciary.—Agencies
